Thompson’s Margaret River marvel is linear, grassy and full of flavour. Grant Burge Winemakers SB from the Adelaide Hills is bursting with passionfruit counterbalanced by snow pea shoots, grapefruit and a whack of lime zest. Onto the reds! Zilzie’s Barossa Shiraz is blue fruited, with spice, toasty oak and fine tannins. Hesketh’s Cab is medium bodied and juicy. Penna Lane’s Clare Cab is powerful and perfumed – perfect with lamb backstrap right now but will improve with a decade or more of cellaring.
