A rare opportunity to step into the kitchen with beautiful reality star, Nicole Gazal O’Neil whose multicultural upbringing meant that she had the very best of Lebanese and Swedish festive traditions. And for this Real Housewives of Sydney star, Christmas has always been about family, friends and food! In Nicole's childhood home, Christmas was always celebrated with a family dinner on Christmas Eve surrounded by family and friends. Everyone was always welcome to celebrate at the exotic buffet covered with the same traditional dishes every year that are a nod to both cultures. It's a tradition that she continues with her young family. In this fun-filled class, Nicole will give you the low down on her exotic recipes that have been handed down through many generations. She’ll demonstrate : Swedish Gögg - a spiced wine traditionally served warm in cooler climates but may also be enjoyed over ice. Every family has their own recipe handed down through generations. Swedish Meatballs - a classic, easy to make recipe that never disappoints. Swedish Rödbetsallad – an apple and beetroot salad that’s a Scandi Christmas staple. In fact, not having a beetroot salad on the Christmas smorgasbord table would be almost as unthinkable as missing a visit from `Saint Nick’. Lebanese Shish Taouk – a traditional garlic chicken dish which can be baked or grilled on the BBQ. Garlic Sauce - a must accompaniment to the garlic chicken. Every family has their own version. Nicole will let you in on the Gazal family’s secret ingredient. Lebanese Meghli - a traditional Lebanese dessert that is served to celebrate the birth of a baby (and what more illustrious baby than the birth of Christ!). It’s a delicious rice pudding spiced with anise, cinnamon and caraway then garnished with shredded coconut and nuts. Who knows, perhaps this Christmas Eve you'll start a fun tradition of your own!
