PRODUCT DETAILS
Try as we might to compare the two, modern artwork always falls short against the charm and tradition of the grand works created before the 19th Century and prior.
From Degas to Vermeer and many great names in between, Silhouette d’Art vases aim to capture the romance of the art of yesteryear. Created by John Beswick, famous English ceramic-makers since 1894, these vases are subtly shaped to suit the artwork they display – as well as any flowers you choose to place within.
Katsushika Hokusai was one of the most prominent
ukiyo-e woodblock printers and painters of the Edo period of Japan, and is perhaps best known for his artwork
The Great Wave Off Kanagawa. Among his repertoire of artworks are further treasures, however; one of them, a stunning print of graceful lilies, adorns this vase.
Hokusai’s beautiful print is applied to this ceramic vase, with its delicate orange lilies against a washed blue background. It’s beautiful as a gift, or as a statement piece in the home.
