WINERY INFORMATION d'Arenberg, established in the year 1912 by Joseph Osborn, is over a century old family operated wine business in McLaren Vale. The region is known for its world class wines and is one of the most reputed wine regions in Australia. Chief Winemaker Chester Osborn, who joined the family business in 1984, uses traditional winemaking methods to produce distinctive and flavoursome Australian wines.
d'Arenberg The Peppermint Paddock Sparkling Red is a blend of 66% Chambourcin and 34% Shiraz grapes from McLaren Vale. The ripe grapes were first gently crushed, then open fermented, which is a time honoured method of winemaking. The resulting wine presents a vibrant purple colour. To the nose, the heady bouquet presents luxurious scents of dark plums, red berries and sweet jubes, lifted with hints of cinnamon, spice, winter berries and licorice. You discover a fresh palate full of flavour, balanced with just the right tannins and mineral acidity. All these vibrant characteristics ultimately culminate in a long and clean finish. Crafted by the winemakers so that you don’t have to wait, entertain with this fun drink now, or age it in the cellar for more integrated flavours. It goes nicely with red duck curry.
